This is a list of our all-time 10 favorite Stores to buy dresses for engagement sessions! Morning Lavender – Morning Lavender is definitely one of our favorite stores to buy dresses for engagement sessions because of their tulle skirts! We LOVE long flowy dresses as much as the next person, but if there’s a blush tulle skirt with a white lace top, we will be dyyyiinnng. 😍

Mr. Pretty Skirt – So, kind of a weird name, but as it implies, skirts, skirts everywhere! Mr. Pretty Skirt has beautiful dresses as well, but if you decide to look at their website, we’d recommend looking at the skirts first. They literally have all the skirts, long train, short train, tulle, lace, sequin, chiffon, and too many more to write!

Saved By The Dress – If you’d like to wear a Maxi dress to your engagement session, it is SO worth your time to check out Saved By The Dress. And while you’re there, you should take a look at their “short dresses” category as well. Because even if you don’t find something you want to wear to your engagement session, they’re still perfect for a night out on the town with your fiancé!

VICI – VICI has beautiful dresses, and it’s the go-to place if you’re looking for a wrap dress for your engagement session. We love the simplicity of wrap dresses without any prints, but they look beautiful with a floral pattern too! Our only suggestion if you plan to wear a wrap dress is to make sure that the location of your engagement session isn’t too windy. Other than that, you can’t go wrong!

ASOS – If they don’t have it, it probably doesn’t exist yet. ASOS has all the dresses, and thankfully, gives you the ability to filter through a ton of options so you can find the perfect dress for your engagement session. We’d recommend starting with “Dress Type” and then narrow your search by color. Of course, there are other ways to find the dress you’re looking for, but this is what has worked best for us in the past!

Etsy – There are some incredible stores and gown designers on Etsy (Renz Bridal is one of our favorites)! If you’re not sure of the look you’re going for, we’d recommend searching with some keywords in the search bar on Etsy. Typing something like, “blush tulle skirt” or “navy lace dress with sleeves” will show tons of great results and soon you’ll have the perfect dress (or dresses 💕) for you!

The Boutiques

Boutique 1861 – This may just be our favorite Canadian boutique! And you don’t have to worry about shipping because although they’re located in Canada, shipping to the U.S. is quick and convenient. One thing to keep in mind is that they are a boutique, so their inventory is constantly moving, but they usually have some great lace tops that would go well with a skirt!

 

NeeSees Dresses – If you’d like to wear a lace dress to your engagement session, look no further. NeeSees Dresses has gorgeous lace dresses and we love recommending them to our brides. Lace is one of those materials that will never go out of style, and it photographs beautifully.

Joyfolie – First things first, we LOVE Joyfolie’s website! They make us feel like we’re in France and we can almost smell the croissants. If you’d like a long flowy dress for lots of movement added to your photos then you’ve come to the right place! And if you’re looking to spice up your look with some accessories, Joyfolie has you covered!

 

Rather Rent?

Rent the Runway – If you don’t want to add a new permanent piece to your collection, a lot of our brides love Rent the Runway for their engagement photos because you don’t have to spend a lot to feel like a million bucks. Plus, you can send the outfits back when the session is over. Other brides love having a great excuse to bring a new permanent piece (or two!) into their closet!

Amazon Personal Shopper for Engagement Dresses

If you’re truly worried about finding the perfect dress for your engagement session, we’d recommend signing up for an Amazon Personal Shopper subscription. A personal shopper can drastically boost your confidence level and it’s not as expensive as you’re probably thinking. The program works best on your mobile phone so if you do sign up, that’s what we’d suggest you do. Either way, we’d absolutely recommend giving it a try! And remember, you can always cancel the subscription after your session if you don’t love the way they styled you.

Our Dress Trifecta

If you’re still shopping around we’d encourage you to look for our dress trifecta – as we like to call it. We always recommend dresses and skirts that are long, flowy (because they look amazing in the wind), and for the top to have a 3/4 length sleeve. It’s not an easy search, but we always find it to be the most flattering in photos!
